Courchevel 1850 has for many years been the favourite skiing destination for chic Parisians, more recently it has become popular with wealthy Russians. Courchevel has always been popular with the British for skiing holidays, it need not be hugely expensive although villages such as la Tania would offer better value. |

| Ski & Snowboard Access: Many of the ski chalets in Courchevel 1850 as well as the hotels and apartments offer good ski access; some of the best hotels will even carry your skis for you. Courchevel 1850 is really the hub of the skiing and snowboarding in the Courchevel valley: there are a number of lifts out of the centre. The most popular lift is the Verdons telecabine; at the top of this lift you can choose between the Vizelle telecabine and the Saulire cable car - both of these provide a selection of pistes in Courchevel as well as access to Meribel. Courchevel 1850 has been developed in a way to try to ensure that skiers and snowboarders alike are catered for. This is very noticeable when skiing or boarding home particularly if you are staying in the Jardin Alpin area. |

| Apres Ski: Courchevel 1850 has over 100 shops offering the top brand names, many are aimed at the so called fur coat and poodle brigade from Paris. There are also a number of art galleries with work by famous artists; often there will be exhibitions near the tourist office. There is an excellent selection of nightlife. The best include Le Jump at the foot of the slopes, Saulire and Potiniere. If you are not so worried about the prices try one of the exclusive nightclubs such as Caves, Kalico, Piggys and Mangeoire. |
